Descriptive stats → best-fit line → sum of squares → F. Move any slider and watch every number and plot update together. Pin a baseline to see exactly what changed.
Black dots are people. Blue is the least-squares line; it always passes through the ring at (X̄, Ȳ). Red segments are residuals. The dashed gray line is the null model.
Each formula with your current numbers substituted. Green = went up, red = went down, compared with your last move (or the pinned baseline). The number glows when it just changed.
What you computed in earlier lectures.
SS_T = SS_M + SS_res. The bar is the whole pie.
Curve = F(1, n−2) when there is no relationship. Red tail = the 5% you choose (alpha). Blue = your p-value.
SS_res as a function of the slope. The minimum sits at the best-fit slope, where the derivative is 0. Use the nudge slider to move off it.
Paint data points with a spray can and watch the least-squares line, r and R² update live. Draw weird patterns and see what the line does with them.
Press and drag to spray. Hold still to pile points up. Erase mode removes points under the brush. Blue is the least-squares line and always passes through the ring at (X̄, Ȳ).
